New Violent Crime Stats Alarming!

Statistics show an alarming increase in violent crime and in particular knife crime!   

  • The number of rapes (29,265) & other sexual offences (58,954) ion the UK are at the highest level! 
  • Every 6 minutes there is a knife attack in the UK!
  • Sexual assaults with knives went up 28% last year!
  • Knife assaults increased by 13% to 13,488 offences in the UK!
  • Last year in Warwickshire there were 532 violent crime instances!

A great weekend spent at the T-UK instructor and child protection course held in Stratford Upon Avon.  An essential update of qualifications to keep the Warwick and Kineton TKD club at the top of their game.  

Well done Warwick-TKD, Chief Instructor Martin Noddings, Assistant Instructors Brian Feely, Lynda Parnell and senior coloured belts John and Rachel Hoult; Kineton-TKD Chief Instructor Lynda Parnell and Assistant Instructor Tom Dixon in theirs and their clubs progression and improvement and even better standards of teaching.

Tuesdays class meet Fridays class (although a few missing faces due to sickness and holidays).  A great start to the year with great enthusiasm and team spirit within the club.  Well done all, looking forward to a year of excellence :)

Get strong & stay healthy for your TKD

For those martial artists taking their training and development seriously strength and strength endurance gains are an important part of your training regime.  It will make you able to perform difficult techniques better, generate more power, enable you to take bigger hits, reduce the likelihood of injury.  However your weight training regime could be causing you injuries and instability if done wrong. Knife defence skills!!!

After last nights black belt session at the Warwick-TKD club and the knife defence skills we practiced I thought I would post the below CCTV footage of a knife attack (please be aware it is graphic) but it allows you to see what a typical knife attack looks like and thus be a little bit more aware and ready if you are unfortunate enough to be in this situation.
