Sunday saw members of Warwick & Leamington TKD take part in the T-UK Central Area coloured belt block grading, conducted by T-UK President Master John Archer.
The September grading is traditionally one of our smaller gradings. Following the summer break, we only put students forward who have maintained their training, demonstrated the required technical standard and successfully completed our own club pre-test.
A belt promotion should be earned, not simply expected because enough time has passed.
This time, 14 of our members were selected to grade, and we are extremely pleased with their performances and the standard they demonstrated on the day.
⭐ Two Outstanding A Passes
A special congratulations goes to Lani Widdeson and Sanvi Patel, who both achieved an excellent A Pass.
An A Pass represents an exceptional grading performance and is something every student should be extremely proud to achieve. Congratulations to you both — a fantastic result and recognition of the work you have put into your training. 👏🥋
Success Is a Team Effort
Although it is the students who ultimately have to step into the dojang and perform, preparing them for grading is very much a team effort.
A huge thank you therefore goes to our entire instructor team, who once again put considerable time and effort into preparing our students and helping them reach the required standard. I'd also particularly like to thank Mr Gearing and Mrs Hoult, who supported me at Sunday's grading and helped ensure everything ran smoothly for our members.
The strength of our instructor team and the willingness of our senior grades to invest their time in developing others is an important part of what makes Warwick & Leamington TKD the club it is.
And Now We Start Again…
For those who successfully promoted, the new belt isn't the end of something — it's the beginning of the next stage of their training.
Attention now turns towards our December grading, where we expect to have a considerably larger contingent of Warwick & Leamington students attempting promotion. Preparation has already begun in class. But grading isn't the only thing on the horizon.
We are also preparing members for the upcoming British Championships, while a number of our Black Belts are working towards their next Dan grading in November. So we have a very busy few months ahead:
