This is the time of the year when a great number of people make new years resolutions, a contract to themselves to make positive change in their lives.
I have a great deal of posts popping up on my Facebook feed and a number of them suggesting that this is a bad thing, that it is negative, setting yourself up to fail!!! I would like to put my two penneth in if I may and put a positive spin on it and hopefully help some of you to better succeed.
On Saturday 9th December, T-UK and Warwick-TKD Instructor Mr Martin Noddings travelled down to Grand Master Nardizzi's Academy in Croydon for an International Grading test We are pleased to announce that he was successful and has now been promoted to 6th degree after a thorough and testing grading.

I am pleased to announce the addition of 2 styles of hoodie to the club clothing range. The hoodies will be banded the same as the tracksuit tops with the TUK and the club logo's on the front and the big foot club logo on the back.
Miss Zoe Clark was awarded the student of the year award at Warwick-TKD on Friday evening at the Central Region Christmas party.
The decision for the winner this year was a very difficult one with two particular candidates in a very deserving position to be awarded it for their phenomenal service to the club and association, however Zoe was chosen by all the instructional team after a long long debate narrowly winning out.
This Sunday saw the last TUK Central Region grading being held at Stratford Leisure centre presided over by Master John Archer VII, T-UK President.
Well done to all the Warwick & Kineton students, a great performance by you all keeping the very high standards of the clubs intact.
This blog is aimed at the green tags from Warwick-TKD I was teaching on Friday. The great Master Suska performing Do San; Watch, analyse, implement, practice, practice, practice, practice and then practice some more.
This video shows you how to practice Chon-Ji Tul which is the first of 24 patterns in Taekwon-Do. It explains how to practice various parts of the pattern, such as how to pivot when you are turning, how to move your body during the different stages of the movements as well as how to remain balanced and develop more power. Then, the video explains the sequence of all 19 movements in the pattern.
So when I get a text, email, phone call saying work is manic, issues at home etc, my response is always that that is more important, go get it sorted as we are always here, let me know if I can help, lets face it training is basically just training; family, work they are a higher priority.
Conversely when people have life issue that are bogging them down I also look to utilise our classes as a cathartic experience and attempt to entice them to class to utilise it as an escapism, a constant that they can rely on, a support structure with peer group support from the other students and instructors; I look to encourage them back to training; physical activity is one of the best solutions to stress and challenge!!!
Last weekend saw a number of students from Warwick and Kineton clubs taking their black belt gradings under Masters Archer and Ridley with Grand Master Nardizzi present as a special guest examiner.
