Our Instructor team always looking to improve and grow

This weekend, several of our instructors from Warwick & Leamington TKD travelled to Bedford to attend the 196th International Instructor Course.

The event brought together instructors from 16 different countries, creating an outstanding opportunity to train, exchange knowledge and continue developing alongside Taekwon-Do practitioners from around the world.

At Warwick & Leamington TKD, we believe that development should never stop, regardless of rank or experience. The same commitment and dedication we expect from our students is something we also expect from ourselves as instructors.

Cultivating Resilience Through Taekwon-Do

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, moments of joy, and periods of struggle. We all encounter times that are difficult and painful, filled with frustrations, disappointments, and hurt. These feelings are not just fleeting; they are real and significant. However, what defines us is how we respond during these challenging times.

Character Revealed in Adversity

At Warwick & Leamington TKD, we believe that true character is revealed not in moments of ease, but in how we face challenge. Our curriculum goes beyond the physical techniques of martial arts; it aims to nurture and develop each individual holistically. While other martial arts clubs may focus solely on skill or self-defence, our approach is uniquely comprehensive.

Another year over at Warwick & Leamington TKD and time to choose the students of the year. We are thrilled to announce and congratulate the recipients of this year's awards:

Warwick TKD:

  • Adult - Tansy Moore

  • Junior - Tilly Whitehorn

  • Junior runner up - Sophie Nelson

The selection process for these awards was not an easy task. We had numerous deserving contenders, all embodying the spirit of Taekwon-Do and demonstrating dedication to their training, which is why we decided to also award a runner up prize in the junior category this year. Our award winners stood out for several reasons beyond just technical ability.

What an incredible weekend we had at the Taekwon-Do UK British Championships in Coventry. I am thrilled to share that our club achieved remarkable success, finishing as the second overall club in the entire competition. This is a tremendous accomplishment that reflects the hard work and dedication of our members.

We brought home an impressive 15 gold, 24 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Each medal represents not just talent, but countless hours of training, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Student's of the year awards 2023

2023 saw a very successful year for our clubs, new promotions to black belt, exceptional A pass results from each of the coloured belt area gradings, multiple world champions from the T-UK British Championships.

This made choosing the adult and junior students of the year very difficult.

In the end the Instructor team landed on the most deserving members. The criteria for the award is predicated on attendance, effort, attitude, overcoming challenges, taking on instruction and applying it, being a role model.
